Showcase/Directing
Senior students have the opportunity to share and showcase all they've learned during their 4 years in RSA. The first semester is devoted to staging a touring show of a one act play that, as a class, the students direct and act in. The students will take care of all the aspects of a live theatre presentation. The second semester, each student will select and direct a one-act play which will be performed in various venues: in class with Theater I students taking on the acting roles, in the evening for outside audiences, and for festival competitions throughout the state. Finishing this course successfully prepares students for any fine arts college or theater conservatory expectations.
Pre-requisite: Theatre 1, Acting Basics, and Acting Styles. You must be in the magnet to take this class. This one-year course counts for the A-G Visual and Performing Arts Requirement, FUSD Fine Arts Requirement, and/or Elective Credit.
