Stagecraft
Stagecraft I
Students who take these courses will get real life construction skills. They will learn how to use hand tools & power tools in order to manipulate wood, metal, fabric and plastics into the beautiful sets that RSA utilizes in their productions. Students who take Stage Craft at RSA leave with marketable job skills.
Pre-requisite: None - you can take this class and not be in the Magnet. This one-year course counts for Elective Credit.
Stagecraft II
This class expands on the skills learned in Stage Craft I. Students will explore the fundamentals of design, blueprint drafting, work on lighting and painting techniques, and explore the world of sound for the theatre.
Pre-requisite: Stage Craft I. You must be in the magnet to take this class. This one-year course counts for Elective Credit.
Stagecraft III
This class, while continuing exploration of construction techniques, also delves into the creative world of design for the theatre. Students in this course utilize the skills they have accumulated in the previous stage craft classes and work collaboratively with the designers of the main stage shows. These students have a huge leg up for college and are in high demand when they leave high school for jobs in our local community.
